checkmytext is a small independent company based in Edinburgh, Scotland, specializing in proofreading, copy-editing, web design and English tutoring. Our editors come from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds: their areas of expertise include TEFL, economics, politics, advertising, journalism, languages, sciences, TV/film scripting, philosophy and more. Privacy policy
All our editors sign a confidentiality agreement stating that they will not reveal or share
the contents of any text or document received or seen by us with any third party, with
the exception of other editors at checkmytext.
We will not release your email address or other details to any third parties or mailing lists.
Security policy
All our incoming and outgoing mail is scanned using the ClamAV anti-virus program.
All documents are held on a secure mail server. Payments are processed through Paypal's secure servers. No cookies will be left on your computer by us.
Editorial policy
The editors of checkmytext reserve the right to refuse any material
they deem to be illegal, defamatory,
infringing upon copyright or generally not contributing to the welfare of the planet and its denizens.
checkmytext is not responsible for the content of any site accessed from the links on this site.
Clients are advised that they are responsible for the content, quality and final use of their text.
checkmytext and its editors cannot accept any liability for any loss,
damage or injury resulting from any use of edited material.
All edited documents are blind-carbon-copied to a test email address to check they have
left our server. Clients are responsible for ensuring that their own email inboxes
can receive their returned documents.
By making payment to checkmytext the client implies
acceptance of these terms.
The governing law for this agreement is that of the UK.
